The Traditional Anglican Church of America, formerly called the Anglican Convocation of the Good Shepherd;is a small jurisdiction of conservative Anglicans who are not in communion with the Episcopal Church in the United States or the Anglican Communion. More aligned with the Continuing Anglican Movement, the jurisdiction has congregations that are low, broad, and high church in liturgy and theology. The Primate of the Traditional Anglican Church of America is the Most Reverend Doctor Robert W. Baker. The Coadjutor is The Rt. Rev. Ebenezer Manuagwu. The Most Reverend Doctor Dwight Irons serves as the Chancellor. Within the jurisdiction, there are two Dioceses. The Diocese of the Good Shepherd Northwest and the Diocese of the Good Shepherd Southeast. The Diocese of the Good Shepherd Northwest is directed by the Presiding Bishop, The Most Reverend Doctor Robert Baker. The Suffragan Bishop is the Rt. Reverend James Cloud. The Diocese of the Good Shepherd Southeast is under the direction of The Most Reverend Doctor Dwight David Irons. The Suffragan Bishop is the Rt. Rev. Doctor Rick Aaron Reid. The Rev.Canon James Patterson is Canon to the Ordinary. As of April 2015, there are 14 active parishes and missions according to the chancellor, Bishop Dwight Irons, with new congregations in the process of formation. Like many other Continuing Anglican churches, the group adheres to the use of the 1928 American Book of Common Prayer, and allows the use of any historical authorized Book of Common Prayer which predates the 1928 American edition. They are also in agreement with the Affirmation of St. Louis. And the Thirty-nine Articles of Religion. As with most continuing organizations the convocation is small and spread thinly across the United States. Most of its missions and parishes meet in borrowed or rented spaces, and some meet in other conservative churches. While the convocation does not have any formal relationships with other continuing churches its leaders have congenial personal friendships and agreements with the leaders of other jurisdictions, most notably the Free Church of England and the Independent Episcopal Church of Mexico. The Traditional Anglican Church of America does not recognize the validity of the ordination of women as deacons, presbyters, or bishops, however consideration is being made for the commissioning of women to the office of deaconess. The jurisdiction does not allow the ordination of openly homosexual men to any rank of ordained ministry and does not permit the blessings of same-sex unions or marriages. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Traditional Anglican Church of America」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
